Individual & Group Insurance
Individual plans are less expensive but you must qualify for one by answering a number of medical questions and can be denied coverage if your medical history does not fit into a company’s parameters. Group insurance, on the other hand, is guaranteed issue as long as you meet the requirements necessary to prove that you are a business.
Short Term Medical
The Short Term Medical Plans are designed to fit your health care needs from thirty days up to three years and ask fewer medical questions than a traditional plan. There are also a variety of other plans designed to fit specific situations.
Permanent Life Insurance
A permanent life policy provides life insurance coverage throughout the insured’s lifetime – the policy never ends as long as the premiums are paid. In addition, a permanent life insurance policy provides a savings element that builds cash value. It is a great investment tool.
Term Life Insurance
Term life insurance is, by definition, temporary insurance. Each year, a premium is paid to cover the risk of death during that year. Term life insurance has no cash value. The only way to collect anything is to die before the term life insurance expires. If death occurs, the life insurance beneficiary generally collects the death benefit of the life insurance policy, free of income tax. It is very affordable.
Specialty Life Insurance
We also have Final Expense insurance, Joint life insurance, Survivor-ship life, Single premium whole life, and others to suit any life insurance needs.
PPO Plans provide payment for dental treatment received by the covered individual on a traditional fee-for-service basis. For some dental procedures (such as preventive dental care) the payment made by the carrier might be in full. For other types of dental services, it is commonplace that these types of plans will cover between 50 and 80 percent of the cost of treatment. You get a much better benefit if you stay in the network.
These plans do not use a network so that you have the same benefit at any dentist. This gives the client complete freedom of choice. We have both group and individual dental plans available.
Actually, this type of dental benefits program technically isn’t dental at all. When you see these types of products marketed, their advertising will specifically make the point that the program is a “dental plan” as opposed to “dental insurance.” They are discount plans that may also have no cost cleanings and exams. You must stay in the network.
Individual Long-term Disability Policies
- Non-cancelable policy: your premiums are fixed over the term of the policy. The insurer cannot jack up the rates, decrease your benefits, cancel or refuse to renew the policy.
- Guaranteed renewable policy: your premiums can be raised so long as the change affects an entire category of occupations, policyholders, etc.
- Conditionally renewable policies: your premiums can go up and your coverage canceled in the event any conditions stated in the policy are triggered.
Group Disability Policies
There are two basic types: Short Term and Long Term insurance. Short term disability insurance is typically designed to provide benefits for 30 to 180 days. Long term disability insurance may provide benefits for 1 to 5 years or to age 65. They can be employer funded or sold as a voluntary benefit here in Florida.
